Biographical History
Tivadar Nachèz was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1859. He was a Hungarian violinist and composer with an international career, and primarily lived in London, England. In Budapest he studied under Sabathiel, the leader of the orchestra of the Budapest Opera. Then he studied under Joseph Joachim in Berlin, Germany and afterwards with Hubert Léonard in Paris, France. Nachèz made his debut in Hamburg, Germany in 1881. His first appearance in the United Kingdom was at the Crystal Palace in April 1881, and after that he performed in numerous concerts and consistently toured throughout England and elsewhere. His compositions include: Zigeunertänze; Polonaise, Op. 26; Violin concerto in E minor, Op 30; and Passacaglia on a Theme of Sammartini. Nachèz died in Lausanne, Switzerland in 1930.
