Born April 20, 1925 in Denver, Colorado; attended Geneva College (BA English), 1943-1947; served in the army 1944-46; married Beverly May Hanson, June 12, 1953; raised four children; State University of Iowa (MA English), 1947-49; Reforemed Presbyterian Seminary, 1949-52; Boston University (Ph.D. 1961), 1955-57; pastor of Reformed Presbyterian churches in Chicago and Ireland; professor of English at Geneva College 1957-1991.
