Biographical History

Born Julie Clary, in Marseille, France, the daughter of François Clary and Françoise Rose Somis, she married Joseph Bonaparte, brother of Napoleon, in 1794. Napoleon created his brother King of Naples and Sicily (1806-1808) and King of Spain and the Indies (1808-1813). Joseph Fouché was a French statesman and Minister of Police under Napoleon.
