Biographical History

Biographical note: Attorney, John W. Walker was born in Bloomington, Indiana, studied law until 1897, then studied shorthand reporting in Washington, D. C. He came to Tombstone in 1903, was official court reporter in Tombstone while it was the county seat of Cochise County and in 1917 moved to Tucson where he was clerk under U. S. District Court Judge William H. Sawtelle. He retired in March 1947 and died in December 1948.
