Robert Tyre "Bobby" Jones, lawyer and golfer, was born March 17, 1902, in Atlanta, Georgia, and died 18 December 1971, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Jones won the Grand Slam of golf and the Sullivan Award as outstanding amateur athlete (1930), planned the Augusta (Ga.) National Golf Club (1931) where he played his first Masters Tournament (1934), and his final Masters Tournament (1968). He was associated with the Atlanta law firm of Jones, Bird and Howell.
