Biographical History

An act passed in 1826 concerning the Armory. Part of this act sought to establish an additional arsenal. On 14 May 1827, Col. John Robert Wallace wrote Governor William B. Giles recommending Warrenton as a suitable place for the arsenal. John W. Green & John Macrae were appointed by Governor on 3 July 1827 to examine and report on the most eligible site for the establishment of an arsenal in the town of Warrenton or its vicinity.
