Biographical History

F. M. (Fereidoun M.) Esfandiary (1930-2000), later known as FM-2030, was an author, philosopher, designer, long-range planner and lecturer.

Esfandiary was the son of an Iranian diplomat, receiving his education in Iran, England and Jerusalem. He moved to the U.S. shortly after representing Iran in the 1948 Olympic Games. Esfandiary worked as a diplomat for the United Nations following his graduation from the University of California, and later became a writer, lecturer and consultant on futuristics. He changed his name to FM-2030 in 1988 to identify himself with his theories.
