Maude Frazier was born in 1881 in Wisconsin, where she was educated as a teacher. After moving to Nevada, she taught throughout the state. After her retirement from teaching, Frazier was elected to the Nevada State Assembly for six terms and was appointed Lieutenant Governor, the first woman to serve in the position.
