Biographical History

Caroline Lewis Lovett (1901-1983), the daughter of Watkins Price Lovett and Howard Meriwether Lovett, was born in Screven County, Georgia and spent many years of her girlhood in Augusta, Georgia. In 1919 she moved to St. Louis with part of the family. For 36 years she was head of the Print Division of Free Library, Philadelphia. On her retirement in 1962 she moved to Savannah, Georgia.
