Biographical History

Grace Kelly was from a Catholic family, probably from Mich. During World War II she served as a lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps. Grace was trained at Fort Custer (Battle Creek, Mich.), in Oct. 1943 and the winter of 1944. She served in the 44th General Hospital in Brisbane and Sydney, Australia, in 1944, and in Bureaun, the Philippines, in 1945. The nun, probably a relative of Grace's, was a member of the Holy Family Convent at 717 Orleans Street, New Orleans (La.). The convent images predate 1955, when the convent moved to another location.

From the description of Photographs and negative, ca. 1930-1960. (Clarke Historical Library). WorldCat record id: 55225061
