Biographical History
Before Peace Lutheran Church was founded, a number of German Lutheran families had already migrated into the Pendleton area, with missionaries conducting services. In 1892, the church was established, and in 1897, a church building was dedicated. A new building was dedicated in 1924 in Pendleton, with the services being discontinued in the countryside in 1927, as a new parsonage building was established. In January 1941, services were provided in Hermiston, as some members could not reach Pendleton. By May a new congregation was forged there, and the memebers were dismissed. In the 1950's, the buildings were reorganized, and a new plant was dedicated that year.
