Biographical History
Harvey Weiss is a freelance writer, illustrator and sculptor. He is the recipient of the New York Herald Tribune Spring Book Festival Honor Book award (1957, 1958, 1961), Ford Foundation purchase awards (1960, 1961), the Olivetti Award (1969), a National Institute of Arts and Letters grant (1970), and a National Sculpture Society grant (1993).
Harvey Weiss was born on April 10, 1922 in New York City. He is a freelance writer, illustrator and sculptor. He has illustrated and authored a series of beginning artists series, as well as juvenile books. He also illustrates books for other authors, such as Miriam Schlein and Joan M. Lexau. Harvey Weiss is the recipient of the New York Herald Tribune Spring Book Festival Honor Book award (1957, 1958, 1961), Ford Foundation purchase awards (1960, 1961) and the Olivetti Award (1969).
