Biographical History

The Woman's Legal Education Society was founded by a group of women to promote and facilitate the education of women in law. As a result of their efforts, an agreement was made with the Council of New York University in 1890 whereby the Woman's Law Class was formed and sponsored by the University to offer lectures on law to women. The Class was offered until 1978.
