First clergyman in Australia and pioneer farmer. He arrived with the First Fleet and stayed for over 12 years. See Australian Encyclopedia, v. 5, p. 136-8.
Johnson was appointed chaplin at NSW in 1786 and sailed with the first fleet arriving at Port Jackson on 26 January 1788.
Richard Johnson was a clergyman who arrived with the First Fleet. He was the first chaplain of New South Wales.
