Biographical History

Jacob Strickland (1741-1804) was an early pioneer of Georgia and was the first of his family to reside in the state. His decendants lived principally in Madison and Gwinnett counties. His grandson, Henry, married Annie Lenoir. Eveline Lenior married Majors I. Lewis, c. 1842. She is the "Mrs. Lewis" who received several letters in this collection.
