Biographical History

Eudoro Estrada (b. 1933), who started his own reforestation company based in Hoquiam and Tacoma, Washington, was born in Mexico and became a naturalized citizen of the United States. He arrived in the United States in 1963 and worked in a variety of construction, gardening, and landscaping jobs in southern California before settling in Washington State in the early 1970s. In 1974, he established his own reforestation business, which he later named Sylvia Reforestation, Inc. (after his daughter). The company, which planted seedlings for large timber companies, employed mainly migrant workers from Mexico and El Salvador.
