Illinois born lawyer, banker, newspaper editor, historian and author who wrote The Black Hawk War.
Historian, collector and author.
Editor of the Sycamore Tribune and historian from Sycamore, Ill. Wrote mostly on Illinois history. In 1937 he spoke at an agricultural celebration in Grand Detour, Ill. where a marker was placed honoring Leonard Andrus, who had been instrumental in the development of the first steel plow originally sold by Andrus and Deere and later by John Deere.
