Biographical History

The Carnegie United Kingdom Trust was founded in 1913 by the industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie (1835-1919) to further the well-being of the people of Great Britain and Ireland. The Trust provides support for projects in the arts, heritage and social welfare, and has helped to build many libraries, museums and theatres. The Trust's think tank organises initiatives and contributes to public policy analysis.
