Biographical History

Lamar Q. Ball was appointed official World War historian for the state of Georgia by Governor Ellis Arnall (who served 1943-1947). With the help of Mary Louise Cobb, research assistant, Ball prepared Volume I (1939) of GEORGIA IN WORLD WAR II, probably published in 1946. Although Ball had accumulated material to document Georgia all the way through the war years, no other volumes were published.

From the description of Lamar Q. Ball World War II collection, [1940?]-[1946?]. (Georgia Department of Archives and History Library). WorldCat record id: 145567422
