Biographical History

The Daniel Guggenheim School of Aeronautics at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Atlanta, Ga.) was built in 1933 with funds provided by the Guggenheim Foundation. The wind tunnel was used primarily to test aircraft design and wing stability in a high wind environment and was used extensively for research during World War II.
