Biographical History

Jack Wilson Carlson received an MBA from the University of Utah, served as a fighter pilot in the U.S. Air Force, and received a Master's and a Ph.D. from Harvard University. He served as senior economist on the Council of Economic Advisors, assistant director of the Office of Management and Budge, Assistant Secretary of the Interior for energy and minerals, Vice President and chief economist of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Vice President and CEO of the National Association of Realtors, and Executive Secretary of the American Association of Retired Persons. He also was an unsuccessful candidate for the Republican nomination for the Senate from Utah. He died in 1992.
