Biographical History

Major General (MG) Celia L. Adolphi grew up in Indiana. She enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves as a clerk typist and went to the Women's Army Corp (WAC) Enlisted Course at Fort McClellan in the summer of 1977. She received direct appointment in June 1978 as a captain, at the age of 34. Adolphi served as Assistant Chief of Staff, Services, and Assistant Chief of Staff, Training for the 310th Theater Army Area Command at Fort Belvoir. She then was Commander of the 55th Support Center at Fort Belvoir. From July 1966 to February 1997, Adolphi commanded the 55th Support Center in Kaposvar, Hungary during Operation Joint Endeavor.

She served as Deputy Commanding General for Mobilization and Training (Individual Mobilization Augmentee) for the U.S. Army Quartermaster Center and School at Fort Lee. In November 1999, Adolphi became the first woman two-star general in U.S. Army Reserve history. Adolphi has attended the following schools: the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army War College, Marian College, and Butler University.
