Biographical History

Anthropologist, educator, and author, (Brooklyn College, B.A., 1952; Columbia University, M.A., 1959, Ph.D., 1971), Leibowitz (1930-1984) was an associate professor of anthropology at Northeastern University, who combined sociology, anthoropology, biology, and psychology in her research, studied the sexual division of labor, and was a critic of sociobiology. She was a member of many professional organizations.
