Biographical History
Husband and wife authors of young adult books about science and fine arts.
Herbert Arthur Klein, a journalist and author, and his wife, Mina Cooper Klein, had a life-long fascination with the works of B. Traven. For over fifty years, the Kleins collected many different kinds of material on Traven. They also translated and edited a collection of short stories by Traven, THE KIDNAPPED SAINT, (Lawrence Hill, 1974). Together, the Kleins wrote, edited, or translated over twenty books, and although these papers contain several plans for a study of Traven, it was not completed.
Klein was born in 1907 in New York City; graduated from Stanford Univ.; became publicist, teacher, and writer; lived in Berlin and London and worked for news services as a feature writer and reporter; published works include The peoples of Israel : fifty-seven centuries of presence (c1986).
