Biographical History

Nock was a federal parliamentarian and a farmer. He had a wheat and sheep property, "Nelungaloo", near Parkes, in New South Wales and was involved with several primary producer organisations. Nock was elected to the House of Representatives in 1931, holding the seat of Riverina as a Country Party member until 1940. In 1946 he challenged the legality of the Commonwealth's terms of acquisiton of wheat under the war-time provisions in the so-called Wheat Case. The case eventually went to the Privy Council, where it was dismissed.
