Father, Rear Admiral Purnell Frederick Harrington, U.S.N., retired (grad. U.S. Naval Academy 1863); son of Samuel Maxwell and Mary (Lofland) Harrington of Dover, Del. Mother, Mia Nelthropp (Ruan) Harrington; daughter of Dr. John Ruan and Henrietta (von Krause) Ruan of St. Croix, Danish West Indies.

Death due to arteriosclerosis. Buried in Naval Cemetery, Annapolis. Survived by wife, children, and a sister, Miss Helen Nelthropp Harrington of Yonkers, N.Y.
