Biographical History

Ewing E. Booth (b. Feb. 28, 1870, Bower Mills, Missouri-d. Feb. 19, 1949), major general in the U.S. Army, graduated from the Army Staff College in 1905 and early in his career served with the 1st, 7th, and 10th Cavalry Regiments. During World War I, he was aide-de-camp to Major General J. Franklin Bell, served with the 1st Cavalry Regiment and was Chief of Staff for Eastern Department and then 77th Division. At the end of the War he was commanding general, 8th Infantry Brigade, and Chief of Staff, American Forces in France. The last position held by this decorated officer was as commander, Philippine Department, and he retired in February 1934.
