Born Nadir Khan-Romanoffski in Yalta, Crimea, 1881, and educated at Eton, École le Grand, Oxford, and the Sorbonne; he became a naturalized British subject and served in the British and British-Indian Army; his many writing credits include Broadway interlude, Pagan Love, Bucking the tiger, The remittance woman, and The lives of a Bengal Lancer; he lived the later years of his life in the US; he died May 12, 1945.
