Biographical History
Edward Fenton McGlachlin (b. June 9, 1868, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin-d. Nov. 9, 1946), Major General in the U.S. Army, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1889. He served in the Philippines and received special mention for gallantry. During World War I, he was assigned to several outfits including the 165th, 57th, and 66th Field Artillery Brigades. He was also commander, army artillery and chief of artillery, 1st Army, and commander, 1st Division and 7th Division. He served as commander of the Army War College from 1921 to 1923. He retired from Army service in November 1923.
