Biographical History

The National Press Club, founded in 1908, is comprised of newspeople employed by all areas of the news media. In March 1952 the club began recording the speakers at its regular newsmakers luncheons and evening functions. The Library of Congress, presented with this collection of tapes in 1969, continues to receive recordings of the luncheon speakers series.
