Biographical History

The Philadelphia, Germantown and Norristown Railroad Company was incorporated under the laws of Pennsylvania on February 17, 1831. It was one of the first railroads in the Philadelphia area. The PG&N became part of the Reading Railroad system under lease in 1869 and became the Reading's primary entrance for passenger trains into Philadelphia.
