Biographical History
Richard Lebherz is a writer and critic who resides in Maryland and began corresponding with the writer Coleman Dowell in 1968. Lebherz favorably reviewed Dowell's work, and the two corresponded for the next eight years. Lebherz is the author of "The man in the white raincoat" (1963) and "Frederick: A walking tour" (1993).
Born 1921 in Frederick County, Md.; d. 2004; joined the U.S. Army as private in 1942 and served until 1945; first stationed in England where he trained as a cryptographer with the Royal Air Force; later transferred to the 9th Air Force unit in Germany where he served as an official United States Army correspondent; novelist and newspaper columnist of the Frederick News Post.
