Biographical History
Edward C. Montgomery was an airline pilot and federal aviation official during the twentieth century. A 1941 graduate of the University of Wyoming, Montgomery learned to fly at Brees Field in Laramie, Wyoming, then served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. After the war, he worked as an airline pilot for twenty five years, flying for Capital Airlines and United Airlines. After retiring from United Airlines, he served on the National Transportation Safety Board during the 1960s and 1970s, where he was involved in airline safety and aircraft accident investigations.
