Biographical History

Pauline Green graduated from the North Carolina College for Women (now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1921. During her time as a student at NCCW, Green was a member of the Adelphian society, 1918-1919; served as Class Secretary, 1918-1919; Carolinian Reporter, 1919-1920; Pine Needles Staff, 1919-1920; Dramatic Club, 1920; Vice President of the Adelphian society, 1921; President of the Dramatic Club, 1921; and the Toastmistress of the Adelphian Banquet of 1921. She performed as the lead heroine of many plays presented by the college and was the recipient of the "Prettiest" award at The College Party; often being referred to by her peers as "Pretty Polly" or "P. Green."
