State Representative Joyce Beatty served Columbus' 27th House District for four terms from 1999-2008. In 2006 she became the first woman to lead Democrats as the House Minority Leader. She is also the founder and president of African-American Businesswomen & CEOs (ABC), a Columbus-area professional networking organization.
State Representative Tom Brinkman served the 34th House District for four terms from 2007-2008. He chaired the Commerce and Labor committee and served on the Criminal Justice, Ways and Means, and Local and Municipal Government and Urban Revitalization committees.
