J. Reuben Clark served as a U.S. Ambassador to Mexico and was a delegate to the Republican National Convention from Utah.

Joshua Reuben Clark, Jr. (1901-1961) served as Under Secretary of State to President Coolidge, he later was called and served as the Second Counselor of the First Presidency of the LDS church from 1933-1961.
Joshua Reuben Clark, Jr. was born 1 September 1901 in Grantsville, Utah. He received a BS from the University of Utah and a law degree from Columbia University. He served as Under Secretary of state to President Calvin Coolidge in 1928 and as ambassador to Mexico from 1930–1933. In 1933 Clark was asked to serve as the Second Counselor in the First Presidency of the LDS church to President Heber J. Grant. He served in the Presidency until his death on 6 October 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
