Biographical History
Plymouth Preparative Meeting was established in 1703. In 1827, after the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. Plymouth Preparative Meeting (Orthodox) was discontinued in 1907, and its members were transferred to Norristown Preparative Meeting. Plymouth Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) became Plymouth Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends in 1936 at the dissolution of the original Gwynedd Monthly Meeting (Hicksite)
