Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1916. Education: S.B., Chemistry University of Chicago (1938). Employment: 1941-1942 Deavitt Laboratories, 1943-1945 United States Army, 1946-1984 Standard Oil Company (Indiana)/Amoco Corporation.

Seymour Meyerson was employed by the Research and Development department of Standard Oil of Indiana (Amoco) from 1946 until his retirement in 1984. Thereafter he lectured and wrote about the early years of mass spec as it applied to the petroleum industry. He was active in the affairs of ASTM Committee E-14 and served as president of the A.C.S. Division of Petroleum Chemistry
