Biographical History

Euen Newton discusses living on a farm in the Land Between the Lakes region of Kentucky during the early half of the 20th Century. She describes the different houses where she resided and the farm animals her family owned. Newton offers recollections on local communities, farming and stories told to her about the Civil War, the Night Riders, and the Klu Klux Klan. She mentions the Tennessee Valley Authority, the Corps of Engineers and the influence of other government agencies on the region. She also tells of an incident where a black youth was killed by a mob of citizens.
