Biographical History
Editor of Wallaces' Farmer; appointed U.S. Secretary of Agriculture by Warren Harding in 1921. He was a member of the executive committee of the Roosevelt Memorial Association and of the International Committee of Young Men's Christian Associations. During his administration he promoted farm relief legislation.
Editor of the periodical, Wallaces' Farm and Dairy, and later Wallaces' Farmer. Activist who fought for fair prices from the railroads to ship produce. Secretary of Agriculture from 1921 until his death in 1924.
