Biographical History

As chair of the committee on furnishings, Metcalf oversaw the furnishings of newly constructed buildings at Radcliffe College, including Cabot Hall, the Health Center, and the Woman's Rights Collection Room in Longfellow Hall.

Margaret Carter Metcalf was affiliated with the Radcliffe College Class of 1905. She was the official interior decorator at Radcliffe and decorated the newly built Cabot Hall in 1937. She founded the Westwinds Book Shop in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in 1946.
