Biographical History

Anna M. Brady was born Anna Caldwell Moss on Mar. 7, 1901. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Ward Moss of Norfolk, Va. In 1925, Anna married Frank Brady, a founder of the Catholic Evidence Guild in Baltimore. Anna was received into the Catholic Church in 1928. With her husband she started the American branch of the Pro Deo Movement. After World War II, Anna Brady settled in Rome. In time, she earned the rank of Senior Vatican correspondent. She became an expert on Vatican issues and covered the conclaves which elected four popes and all sessions of Vatican II. In 1981, she moved to Albany, N.Y. where she wrote for CRUX of the news. Throughout her lifetime she published articles in a wide range of publications, including the Baltimore Sun and the Long Island Catholic. Anna M. Brady died on Sept. 6, 1999.
