Biographical History

Richard C. Dillon was born in St. Louis, Missouri, June 24, 1877, the son of Richard and Hattie Dillon. He was educated in public schools in St. Louis, and at the age of twelve, he moved with his parents to Springer, New Mexico. In 1908, he became manager for G.W. Bond Company, a large sheep and mercantile company at Encino, New Mexico. A Republican, he was elected state senator in 1924, and elected Governor in 1926. He was re-elected governor in 1928. After serving two terms as governor, he returned to his ranching interests in Encino. He was married to Josie M. Williams, of Las Vegas, New Mexico. Dillon died January 5, 1966.

Dillon, a Republican, was elected Governor in 1926 and was re- elected in 1928. He was born in Missouri in 1872 and moved to New Mexico in 1884. Dillon served as a New Mexico State Senator in 1924 before becoming Governor.
