Biographical History

Anna Blackwood Howell (1769-1855) was the widow of Joshua Ladd Howell (1762-1818) of Gloucester County, N.J., who inherited fisheries on the Delaware River. After her husband's death, Anna Howell continued to run the fisheries and the family farm.
