Emily Taylor, administrator, was educated at Urbana College, Ohio State University, and Indiana University. She was Dean of Women at the University of Kansas, 1956-1975, director of the Office of Women in Higher Education of the American Council on Education from 1975, and since 1978, president of the Women's Institute of the American University. She served on the Commission on the Status of Women of Kansas (1969-1975) and of Maryland from 1975. She was president of the National Association of Commissions for Women, 1975-1977, president of two branches of the American Association of University Women, and president of the Kansas Association of Women Deans, Administrators, and Counselors. She also served on the national board of the Women's Equity Action League.
