Biographical note: Active in various women's organizations and charities, Rena Mathews accompanied her husband, John D. Mathews, throughout his career. J.D. Mathews was a civil engineer involved with railroad construction in California, Arizona and Mexico.
Tucson resident from 1909 to 1925; Rena Mathews was active in civic, charity and women's organizations. She helped established the Arizona Children's Home in 1912 and the Comstock Hospital.
