Biographical History

The Central Labor Union was organized on 25 June 1891 from delegates representing the Iron Molders Union No. 265, the Bread Bakers Union No. 118, and Wood Cutters Union. Little is known about the organization.

DIFFERENT FROM the Washington Central Labor Union, organized in 1897. Whether this later organization included members of the previous Central Labor Union, or merely took a similar name, is not known. The later Central Labor Union, however, continued to operate well into the twentieth century and published The Trades Unionist.
