Composed originally for tuba and piano as Sonata, 1986-88; Orchestrated as Concerto, 1988. First reading Drexel University, Philadelphia, 24 June 1988, Orchestra Society of Philadelphia, Mark Laycock conductor, Brian Brown soloist. Dedicated to Brian Brown.--Cf. Fleisher Collection.
Inspired by the composer's three daughters. Commissioned 2000, by the Jupiter Symphony. Composed 2000-2001. First performance Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, New York, 2 April 2001, the Jupiter Symphony, Jens Nygaard conductor, Gerard Reuter oboe, Karl Kramer horn, Wolfram Kössel cello.--Cf. Composed 1989-90. Hymn, originally titled Benediction (see callno.: 2471s), composed 1983. Fugue, originally last movement of Sonata for Piano, composed 1985-86.
