Biographical History
The Catholic Historical Society was founded on May 27, 1940. The goal of the Society is to record the ongoing story of the Catholic Church in Western Pennsylvania and to share it with the public through their publications and programs. Since their inception they have been responsible for several publications regarding the Catholic church, Catholic Pittsburgh's One Hundred Years (1943) and The Register of Fort Duquesne (1954). The Society also publishes a newsletter called Gathered Fragments.
