Adams was an American historian.
Brooks Adams was an American historian. Henry Adams was an American novelist, historian, and social critic.
Brooks Adams was an American scholar and historian, brother of Henry Adams. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, into a politically active family, he graduated from Harvard and passed the bar to practice as a lawyer. He travelled substantially, publishing essays and reviews, and a controversial history of Massachusetts. His work and views were characteristically complex and eccentric, and his scholarship often dubious; his outlook was dark, and he questioned the success of democracy and the value of individual wealth. He is remembered for unique and revisionist intellectual views.
American lawyer and historian. Grandson of John Quincy Adams.
